For the first two weeks of June, Coach Devan Anderson will be in Kenya on a mission trip. The church of one of his previous players will be going with an organization called Empower Worldwide Outreach. He will be helping with the E.G.G.S. Initiative and the Vessels of Soccer Initiative.

The E.G.G.S. Initiative helps Kenyan grandmothers who are taking care of orphans. The grandmothers are provided with chickens and helped in starting micro-businesses selling eggs and meat. This in turn helps them sustainably provide for the children and themselves.

The Vessels of Honor Soccer Initiative helps steer Kenyan youth in the right direction through community activity. These impoverished youth have few positive outlets available in their communities. During practices, games, and tournaments, they are taught positive behavioral choices that will help them in life.
